About Us
Zah is one of the longest running Housing Co-Operatives in the UK, founded by Buddhists in the 1980s and still going strong. It presently has a small community of six members who all work with each other to make a positive living environment.
The co-op is located in Didsbury in the heart of Manchester. It provides affordable housing to people at a period of time where housing is unaffordable to many.
Zah is an equals opportunity co-op and doesn't discriminate against anyone based on gender, race, disability, orientation or any other differences.

Our Ethos
We aim to provide affordable housing to those that need it and sustain a comfortable living environment for each other. We presently work with and look after each other, aiming to sustain the co-op in the long term, long after we are all gone.
Co-operative Living
Our housing co-op gives each member an equal vote on each matter to allow us to manage the co-op in a democratic way. Everybody gets involved in managing the accounts, organising meetings, maintaining the property and trying to progress the co-op.
We all abide by a set of rules which we all self-enforce and have regular meetings and votes on matters to ensure that everyone is in agreement. This has allowed for us to maintain a healthy co-operative for a long period of time.
